Meeting Notes from July 14, 2014

The Village HOA Meeting came to order at 6:45PM, on Monday, 7-14-2014, at The Town hall.

Secretary report – The notes from the last meeting that are posted online were approved as posted. The board discussed and approved creation of a position for an alternate HOA Secretary. The alternate would hold the ability to vote and fully function as Secretary, in absence of the existing Secretary. The position was discussed with one potential alternate who was in attendance. No decisions have been made yet on who will fill this position.

Treasurers report – We have 15 residents who have not paid their HOA dues for 2014. We have received our restricted funds from the state and are financially sound, thanks in part to our recent increase in HOA dues.

Architectural Committee – Due to the hail in the area we have had many approvals for new roofs and gutters.

Old Business – The board discussed and approved using restricted funds for updating “The Village” sign at the Platte Canyon entrance. We also discussed a new sign made of red brick at the entrance on Middlefield. “The Village” sign would replace the existing solar lighted sign and is okay with the home owners (they were at this meeting) as long as any new sign does not take any additional lawn area. The home owners very graciously offered us the ability to live-wire electric lighting from their power source in order to upgrade from the solar lighting. This provides preliminary approval to upgrade the signs at both entrances to The Village.

The date of the Christmas party will be Dec 4th. More details to follow.

New Business – We have had complaints about residents not keeping premises up to the level expected in The Village. Look around your house, lawn and driveway. Make sure you are not leaving things laying around, looking messy. We will be sending an email to all residents reminding them to keep the outside of their house tidy and to check their lamp posts / street lighting to insure it is working properly.

Please look around the neighborhood and let your HOA know if you see anything that needs attention. Simply email us and let us know what you think needs to be addressed. We will be planning a work day in the near future. If you are interested in helping maintain areas in our neighborhood please contact Jim Roller.

There was discussion and approval of installation of a basketball hoop at the end of Columbine Lane. There was previous discussion with homeowners around the cul-de-sac and it appears that there is agreement that this is a good addition to The Village.

Platte Canyon Partners – Land Development – The partners of the company presented us with the attached drawing of how the plans have changed for the development. These are very preliminary drawings, but it is important to share what changes are pending for the vacant lots adjacent to the north of The Village. Several homeowners who will border the new development attended this meeting. Good discussion among neighbors is a very positive thing and this was a good time for Platte Canyon Partners to attend a meeting and share thoughts. Click on the links below to view the drawings.
