Minutes of the HOA Board Meeting held on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, in The Town hall:
Members present: Jim Roller, Jeff Brooks, Mimi Kuchman, Jan Ford.
Absent: Cory Siegel
Guest: Dave Shefte, 24 Village Court and The Town Administrator, J.D. McCrumb
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 by Jim Roller, President, and the minutes of the previous meeting were approved as posted on the web site.
Treasurer’s Report: Notification will be done for each Home Owner advising that the HOA dues have been raised from $35.00 to $100.00 per year and also that we have approved a $50.00 transfer fee that is due and payable to the HOA at closing on a home sold in The Village.
Discussion on how to notify each homeowner resulted in agreement of hand delivery to each mail box. The letter is to be accompanied by a return sheet to indicate email address or a request for hand delivery of information in the future.
Landscape and maintenance: A considerable amount of volunteer work has been done outside the wall along Platte Canyon, involving mulching and weed control. Thank you to Cory and all who volunteered.
Old Business: Good discussion on drive through traffic problems and we do have a motion detector camera available as needed to help pinpoint peak traffic and types of violations. Discussion of a gate at the Platte Canyon entrance to The Village needs further consideration and can be discussed in future meetings.
New Business: Discussion Pink Flamingo parties and other possible activities-Halloween, etc. There was limited interest in establishment of a social committee.
Concerns are noted for the various permit fees collected by The Town of Columbine Valley in connection with home improvements – home owners are questioning validity and consistency of the fees. This will be a topic that may be revisited as new concerns surface.
