A quorum had been met therefore President Bill Prather brought the meeting to order at 6:48 p.m. It was brought to the attention to the board that our bylaws has a limitation of a maximum of 5 Board Members therefore, Jan Ford and Gordon Clogston made the gesture to resign and stay involved as advisors, volunteers and committee members. Therefore, present at this meeting were Board officers President Bill Prather, Vice President Jim Roller and Secretary, Chip Bromfield. Board Officers not at the meeting were -V.P Bill Wieder and Treasurer Jim Howard.
Guest in attendance Jan Ford, Katie Wieder, Gordon Clogston and a new resident to the neighborhood Jeff Brooks.
Old Business:
Minutes from the May meeting were viewed and voted on to accept as written. Motion by Bill Prather and second by Jim Roller.
Architectural Committee Report given by Jim Roller. Only two houses in the Village were doing any exterior work. #29 Village Drive and #9 Village Court have requested that new roofs be put on and #9 would also like to paint. For the roofs both homes will be using an approved product that has more than a 40 year guarantee. Guest Jeff Brooks has volunteered to assist Jim Roller on the Architectural Committee. Other then that, all looks good in the neighborhood.
Old and Continued Business:
This year’s summer BBQ held on June 11 was has a great success and a special thanks to both Bill and Katie Wieder for all their hard work in the organization and success of the event.
This past Annual Garage Sale was attended by many and the adverting and signage made it a success.
Bill Prather reported on the 50th Anniversary Town Celebration and said that it also was a huge success.
Landscaping Report, prepared by Bill Wieder and presented by Katie Wieder. This year the Village entryway was great and many nice comments were given throughout the summer. A final bill has been submitted for pay. Wood chips will once again be put out along Platte Canyon for the winter time by our good neighbor and hard working Mr. Wieder
New Business:
This years Christmas Party will once again be hosted by Jim and Nancy Howard. Bill Prather will follow-up on the finalization of the date and will also purchase and plan for all food and drink. It is believe to be Tuesday December 8 will be the date. The date and time will be posted in the upcoming Newsletter and an email will also go out supporting that information.
It was requested that Anne at the Town Hall put residents email in our phone directory.
The Christmas Season decorations for the front entrance to the Village will need to be put out and this year’s volunteers are Katie Wieder, Jim Roller, Gordon Clogston and Jeff Brooks.
The Village of Columbine Valley November New Business continued.
A member of the community had asked the Village Board if they could advertise in our Newsletter. The Board has always had a policy to not allow such request and therefore, it will continue to keep such request as is in our policies.
Problems in the community including post town celebrations such as July Fourth once celebrations are over it is essential that all parents do not let under age children drive unauthorized motor vehicles in the streets or any where in the Village. This is for the safety of all that live and do not live in Columbine Village.
The cleaning up of trash on property owners is the home owner’s responsibility, including unfortunate houses that are targeted by toilet paper wrappings. Once again, it is the responsibility of the home owner to make sure that all trash and unsightliness is cleaned up in 24 hour time frame. This is to insure a pleasant living environment for all Village residents.
Problems with dogs and their owners in our community were once again brought to the attention of the Board that many owners are not abiding be the laws set forth. Such as dogs barking, leash and clean up. All owners are responsible to follow all laws pertaining their pets including barking, must be on a leash as all times and clean up behind all dogs. A request was made that once a personal contact has been made a follow-up letter be written and sent out from the Board to inform the owners, any other problems will now be put in the hands of the police and fines may be imposed.
Once again, it has been stated by the board that all problems with residents should be addressed with a personal meeting, and then a written notice and then if needed a report to the police of the violation.
Jan Ford will put out a Newsletter highlighting the minutes of the meeting and a list of the upcoming activities including the dates and times.
The next board meeting is scheduled for early Spring and the time will once again be 6:30. If an earlier date is needed, Bill Prather will request it.
